This went into my portfolio last term. I was experimenting with space and shapes at this point. I also may have got a bit carried away with hue and saturation.
This is from my portfolio last year. The aim was to transform a simple photo into something a bit more interesting, as well as practicing my Photoshop skills. This was the result.
